Texas Divorce Planning Institute was founded in 2008 to assist the family law and therapist community along with their clients, in the process of divorce, create better dissolution of marriage outcomes. The formula to improving the outcome of a divorce lies in the trademarked acronym CRADLE, Credit, Assets, Dependents, Life and Estate. |
Ryan Leahy the Founder and President of Texas Divorce Planning created the institute after receiving a call from a women going through a divorce and whose spouse refused to pay temporary maintenance, child support and had allowed the marital residence to go into foreclosure. She asked Ryan if he could refinance her home and extract $150,000.00 in cash to pay her attorney's bill and giver her some cash to live on until her divorce was final. Of course it was too late, but this led Ryan to ask why this was allowed to happen.
Ryan's research took him to meet with attorneys, therapist and financial planners and what he discovered was that every link in the chain was focused on life after the divorce, but none concentrated on how they would get through their divorce fiscally intact. This is when Ryan created his acronym CRADLE to become the foundation of every divorce plan.
